Do you have trouble hearing the things around you?

Over 40 million Americans live with hearing loss, most of those from age related hearing loss. Many years ago, amplification was the key to improving hearing loss however it did not address the key component in improving your ability to better understand speech: your brain.

What is hearing loss?

Sound waves enter the ear and move down the ear canal to the eardrum. The eardrum vibrates and sends these vibrations to three tiny bones in the middle ear where they are amplified and sent to the cochlea. The cochlea is filled with fluid and tiny hair cells. The amplified vibrations cause the fluid to ripple and the hair cells move up and down eventually sending an electrical signal from the auditory nerve to the brain, where it is turned into a sound we recognize and understand.

The results have been astounding:

  • Dramatic hearing improvements in most patients
  • Improved recall and memory
  • Improved ability to understand speech especially in background noise
  • Reduced social isolation
  • Reduction in hearing loss associated risks such as dementia, cognitive decline, social isolation, and falling.
